Compassion for Self
Build a steadier response to stress, self-criticism, difficult decisions, and professional pressure.
A three-month experience in directing compassion toward yourself, extending it wisely to others, receiving it without withdrawal or shame, and applying it to consequential workplace or community challenges.
The Compassion Forum brings The MAB’s history of fearless expression into a new form: Committed people gathering to build the courage, judgment, and connection required to help and heal well, measurably.
Compassion is a direction and a capability—practical, learnable, and measurable.

Many programs teach compassion toward the self or toward others. This Forum gives equal weight to a third, often neglected capacity: receiving compassion, support, and useful help.
It is neither a conventional lecture series nor a meditation retreat. Participants learn, practise, reflect, measure change, and return with real experience.
Build a steadier response to stress, self-criticism, difficult decisions, and professional pressure.
Move beyond good intentions toward listening, wise action, boundaries, and sustainable help.
Develop the trust and capacity to accept support without shame or loss of agency.
Guided practice, connective tissue between: peer.
THE STRONGEST ELEMENTS, IN ONE COHERENT MODEL
The three directions of compassion form the conceptual spine. Applied compassion science, progressive skills practice, structured peer reflection, and Compassion.coach provide the pathway from insight to behaviour.
The MAB supplies what a university classroom cannot: cultural energy, conversation, and a gathering place with a history of people saying what matters, without fear, in the center of the most compassionately disruptive city in the world, San Francisco.

435 BROADWAY, SAN FRANCISCO
Each live day is followed by guided Compassion.coach online sessions.
Self: the nervous system, self-compassion, values, purpose, baseline assessment, dyad formation and action commitment.
Others: empathy, boundaries, inclusion, wise action, sustainable helping, and compassionate conflict practice.
From others: trust, reciprocal support, applied cases, post-assessment, certification, and continuing community.
MEASURED DEVELOPMENT

Baseline and post-program psychometrics help participants see development across compassion-related capacities, well-being, and applied outcomes.
Assessment supports learning and reflection; it is not clinical diagnosis or employment selection.
Measured development across the program.
Reflect on learning and experience.
Put compassion into practice.
Bring learning into a real challenge.
